“Be faithful in small things because it is in them that your strength lies.” Mother Teresa
This blog is about the small things in life. It is overwhelming to try to solve the problems of the world: poverty, hunger, pollution, prejudice, to name a few. I constantly struggle with doing the things I should do on a consistent basis: maintaining a clean, and de-cluttered home, having a consistent quiet time, creating a calm and peaceful environment for my children without trying to tackle the world’s ills. I told a high school friend with an impressive resume that his brain was large enough to focus on the macro – my plate is full enough with my life in the micro.
My micro world is in Southeastern Virginia. After working as a Sponsored Programs Manager at a local university, I changed gears and found my inner Martha Stewart, Ina Garten, and Kitty Kersey. I have never found my inner Donna Reid who cleaned the house and wore pearls in the process. I guess we can’t all be perfect.
